Making Black Friday Sustainable Friday

As a company in an industry that promotes consumption, we want to make better choices to minimize our environmental impact, for our planet and for the sake of our children – the core of our business. That is why we have actively chosen not to be a part of a worldwide concept of promoting hyper-consumption and price reduction races for the last 3 years. Instead, we want to highlight the ways we can make this Friday a more sustainable one! For example by buying less and demanding more. Here are some tips on how to create a new life for your beloved Elodie-products.

Upcycling

Upcycling is our way of encouraging our consumers to consume smarter and slower by prolonging the lifetime of each product. This, of course, starts by sourcing sustainable and high-quality materials for our products that are made to last. Secondly, for us, multifunctionality is a central part of the design and development process as we strive to create products with the potential of a second life after its original purpose has been fulfilled. Another Elodie Upcycling favourite is our stylish and cute Playmats. It really doesn’t make any sense to buy a large and expensive mat that you’ll only use for a year, does it? Not for the environment and not for your wallet. Our Play Mats will be useful from the day you arrive home with your newborn until they turn 10 and even longer if you want. The design elements are contemporary and adult enough that you can repurpose it in pretty much any room of the house.

 

Second Hand

Durable products that are long-lasting have a great secondary value, which is as good for your wallet as it is for our planet. As we aim to always work towards becoming more and more sustainable, we fully endorse the second hand market, where you can give your cherished Elodie-products a new loving home if they are no longer needed.
