Life as a new mom - Catja Coleman

In this heartfelt episode, we meet Catja Coleman, a devoted mother of three from Stockholm, as she shares her experience of welcoming her third child. Discover her best tips, valuable insights, and favorite must-haves from Elodie's collection.

Hi Catja! Who are you?
Hi! I’m Catja, a mom of three, a lover of all things baby-related, and someone who’s always looking for ways to make motherhood a little smoother and more joyful.

Tell us about your family!
I have a wonderful little crew — three amazing girls who keep me on my toes! My oldest two are full of energy and curiosity, and now we have a newborn in the mix, making life even more exciting (and a little chaotic, in the best way).
My partner and I are just soaking up all the love and madness that comes with a growing family.

How has your experience been different this time around compared to when you had your first two?
Oh, it’s definitely different! With my first, everything felt so new and overwhelming. With my second, I had a little more confidence but still felt like I was juggling a lot.

This time, I’ve learned to embrace the chaos a bit more and trust my instincts. I’m also more aware of how fast time flies, so I’m really trying to be present and enjoy all the little moments.

What’s been the biggest change or challenge in having three little ones?
The biggest challenge is definitely balancing everyone’s needs. The older two still want my attention, while the baby obviously needs a lot of care.
It’s a constant game of trying to be there for each of them while also taking care of myself. But seeing them bond and love each other makes it all so worth it!

So far, what’s been the highlight of having a newborn again?
Honestly, just those quiet, snuggly moments—when they fall asleep on your chest, their tiny fingers wrapped around yours. It’s pure magic. And seeing my older kids interact with the baby has been so special. They’re so gentle and curious, and it melts my heart.

What’s the most useful baby product you’ve been using?
A good baby carrier has been a lifesaver! With two other little ones running around, I need to be hands-free as much as possible.
It lets me keep the baby close while still being able to handle everything else.

Name a few of your favorite accessories from Elodie.
I love Elodie’s soft Muslin Blankets, cozy Footmuffs and stylish Pacifier Clips. They’re not just practical — they also look beautiful, which is always a nice bonus!

Which products would you say are must-haves for the early months with a newborn?
Definitely a good swaddle or sleep sack, a reliable baby carrier, and a cozy Baby Nest — it makes those newborn days so much easier.
And a pacifier if your baby takes one!

What advice would you give to someone about to become a new mom, especially if they already have other little ones at home?
Be kind to yourself! It’s okay if things feel overwhelming at first. Accept help when it’s offered, let go of perfection, and don’t stress about doing everything “right.”

Your kids just need your love, and you’re already doing an amazing job by simply being there for them.

What piece of advice has been the most helpful for you throughout your journey so far as a mom of three?
One thing that has stuck with me is: This phase won’t last forever.
When things feel tough, I remind myself that the hard moments are temporary, and the sweet ones are fleeting too. So I try to soak in the good parts and not be too hard on myself when things feel chaotic.
